Description
The Alexander Valley runs southeast to northwest alongside the Mayacamas and is one of the warmest AVAs in Sonoma County. We source fruit from the southern part of the AVA, where early morning fog and slightly lower daytime high temperatures offer a balanced climate for ripening Cabernet. The soils range from alluvial at lower elevations to rocky loam on the more rugged slopes. The combination of these factors brings about nuanced aromatics and firmly structured tannin.
The Arrowood Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is driven by blue fruit with aromas of huckleberry and fresh Mission fig. This high-toned wine also shows savory qualities of pine resin and clove. Subtle notes of violet and chestnut come across on the palate along with elegant structure and bright acidity.
